Uttar Pradesh Accelerates Its GCC Ambitions: GCC Innovation Summit Curtain Raiser Held in Noida

Uttar Pradesh is rapidly positioning itself as a formidable destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), backed by a progressive policy ecosystem, robust infrastructure, a vast talent pool, and an increasingly innovation-driven business environment.

Today, I had the privilege of attending the Curtain Raiser of the GCC Innovation Summit at Radisson Blu MBD Hotel, Noida—an impactful initiative led by the Alumni Association, IIT Kanpur, with the support of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Invest UP, HCLTech, AWS, and leading stakeholders from the GCC ecosystem.

The programme brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, technology experts, GCC representatives, industry associations, and other key stakeholders to deliberate on one central objective: accelerating the establishment and expansion of GCCs across Uttar Pradesh.

A major highlight of the programme was the presence of Alok Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary – IT & Electronics and Planning & Programme Implementation, Government of Uttar Pradesh. He elaborated on the State Government’s strategic vision, policy support, incentives, and institutional framework for attracting GCC investments.

More importantly, the interaction went beyond policy presentation. Industry associations and leading GCC stakeholders were invited to share their feedback, recommendations, and expectations, creating a meaningful dialogue between policymakers and industry.

Senior representatives from the Noida Authority, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) also participated, further reinforcing the Government’s commitment to developing an integrated ecosystem for technology, investment, infrastructure, and global enterprises.

The programme commenced under the leadership of Prof. Amey Karkare, Dean – Resources & Alumni, IIT Kanpur, and Shri Jai Shankar Sharma, Chairperson – SMC, Alumni Association, IIT Kanpur.

It was equally a matter of pride for IBSEA to participate as a supporting industry association. Several State Presidents, Vice Presidents, Regional Directors and representatives from the IBSEA leadership network joined the programme, contributing to this important dialogue on India’s evolving GCC landscape.

The momentum will now move to Lucknow, where the main GCC Innovation Summit is scheduled for 2 September, with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji, as the Chief Guest.

IBSEA’s Commitment to Strengthening India’s GCC Ecosystem

As India continues to emerge as a global hub for GCCs, access to future-ready skilled manpower will remain one of the most decisive factors for sustainable expansion.

IBSEA is committed to supporting GCCs entering and expanding across India by helping develop a strong, industry-ready talent pipeline.

Our focus will be on equipping youth with competencies aligned with emerging and next-generation technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Deep Tech, Industry 4.0, Blockchain, Quantum Technologies, Robotics and other rapidly evolving technology domains.

Through industry-oriented training, capacity building and strategic collaborations, IBSEA aims to bridge the critical gap between India’s young talent and the workforce requirements of global enterprises and GCCs.

Our objective is clear: prepare youth for the jobs of tomorrow while enabling GCCs to access skilled, adaptable and technology-ready manpower.

The GCC Innovation Summit represents more than an industry gathering—it reflects Uttar Pradesh’s determination to become a preferred global destination for technology, talent, innovation and investment.

IBSEA is proud to contribute to this evolving ecosystem and remains committed to supporting the journey of GCCs in India through talent development, industry collaboration and youth empowerment.
