Maj Gen V K Tiwari
was commissioned in the Armoured Corps, a fighting corps of Indian Army in June
1989 as a Graduate Engineer. He has 37 years of experience wherein he has
worked at various positions in Indian Army, Ministry of Defence and Public
Sector Undertaking in General
Administration, Operational Leadership, Human Resource Management, Policy
Formulation, Vigilance & Intelligence, Legal Advice & Compliance, Quality Assurance, Inspection &
Audit, Logistics and Team Management. A methodical and result oriented team
leader with an ability to work under stringent time constraints.
He attended a number of
professional courses in the Army, DGQA/Min of Def. Before joining Army he has
also worked in a Public Sector Undertaking of Andhra Pradesh Govt. He held
various appointments in Indian Army both at Units, Field Formation & at Army
HQ. While working at Army Headquarters in the Directorate of Information
Technology, he was awarded with Chief of
Army Staff Commendation in 2002 for distinguished service regarding
proliferation of Information Technology in Indian Army.
He worked with the Directorate
General of Quality Assurance/Ministry of Defence where he headed three field
establishments and also held important staff assignments. He was awarded with Director General Quality Assurance
Commendation in 2010 for distinguished services in DGQA. While working as
Deputy Director General in DGQA, he handled Cadre Management of Army Officers
posted in Establishments of DGQA and managed HR functions efficiently including
legal/vigilance matters.
He also had a stint with
Directorate of Planning & Coordination/Min of Def wherein he managed Inter-ministerial coordination and worked
closely with Army HQ, Ordnance Factories, DRDO, DGQA, Vendors & Min of
Def/DDP. He coordinated activities of India-Russia Inter-Governmental
Commission in respect of all 41 Ordnance Factories and
monitored two Green Field Projects of Ordnance Factories.
He headed Task Force comprising of
officials from Army HQ, DRDO and Def (Finance) for assessment of the capability
of the vendors for important project of the Indian Army and dealt issues of
Transfer of Technology (ToT), Policy and Quality Management etc.
After Superannuation, he has been
associated with two reputed Interview Guidance Programs for UPSC, IFoS &
CAPF aspirants since 2022 and has conducted more than 1000 interviews as a
panel member, which includes some of the top rankers in CSE 2022 & 2023.
